crochet Mobius scallops
Cowl
bi⋅valve:
noun, an aquatic mollusk that has a compressed body enclosed between two shells, such as oysters, clams and scallops.
-Oxford American Dictionary
Did you know that Scallops are the only migratory bivalve? They travel, or swim, by rapidly opening and closing their shells.
Their repetitive and radiating fan shaped shell is iconic of seashells around the world because of this.
This pattern uses a traditional crochet motif of shells that are opened by chain 1 in the center and the Mobius design keeps the pattern moving constantly with no apparent beginning or end.
