Silky provides a slightly looser mitt that has a special shine and warmth and the Dos is snug and springy with negative ease, like a thick wool sock for your hand. Either can be worked in a short or long length.
The hands are sculpted so that the cables stay straight and do not pull to the side at the thumb or twist.

Materials: 1 skein Malabrigo Silky Merino
-or- 1 skein Malabrigo Dos
Gauge: 6 sts x 8 rows = 1” in Silky Merino
6.5 sts x 9 rows = 1” in Dos
Needle: US3/3.25mm for Silky Merino
US2/2.75 for Dos
Yardage: Aprox 105 - 120 yds
Sizes: Women’s Regular(Small/Large) & short and long variations

This pattern will also be available in my Etsy shop.

$5.00
<-- Click to be taken to via an external Ravelry shopping cart.
As a result, it is available for free to you.

Thick Aran sweaters are just not always practical here in the Southern United States. I love them, but most cold winter days, it’s still just too warm when I enter a building to be wearing one. That said, very often scarves slip or miss a spot where the jacket closes, cowls sometimes drape too much to be effective… Oh, the dilemma!
Enter this little one skein project. It’s a hybrid of a dickey and a cowl, buttons like a neck warmer and looks just like an intricate styled Aran sweater when under a buttoned or zipped jacket. It’s a little bit silly and completely practical. It looks daunting, but (I hope) you should find it not too hard.

Suggested Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Worsted Merino
Yarn weight: Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi)
Gauge: 4.5 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in Sts on US7
Needle size: US 9 / 5.5 mm & US 7 / 4.5 mm
Yardage: 150 - 200 yards
Sizes available: one size

6 page full color PDF with overview and breakdown/zoom charts. Minimal written directions.
--At some time in the future the pattern will be available in written form for a small fee.--

Suggested skills:
Chart reading
Needless cables technique

Materials:
US 7 & US9
2/3 skein Malabrigo Yarn Worsted Merino
3 3/4” buttons

FREE!

You do not need a Ravelry account to download from the link.
I needed a project. He is my Halloween Baby, and I love sticking him in pumpkin hats. Poor kid, he has a horribly cruel Mommy. I’m sure he’ll grow to hate them. Anyway, this is an quick and easy, top down, reversible and mathematical hat that can be left alone for a cool pinwheel effect pseudo fractal vertex (crown) or embellished to make into fruits or veggies, like a pumpkin. Sadly, I never finished the pumpkin top. Oh, well… like anyone needs yet another hat pattern with a stem and leaf!

This uses under 1/2 a skein (under 108 yds) for a one size hat, as well as a newborn size modification.

Suggested Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted
Yarn weight: Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi)
Gauge: 4 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in lightly stretched ribbing
Needle size: US 7 / 4.5 mm, US 5 / 3.75 mm
Yardage: about 108 yards
Sizes available: 7" one size w/ newborn option

FREE!

This PDF is hosted by Ravelry.com.
